La hora del Blues, December 2003

Groovy Eyes "Tuberadio Broadcast" Ram-Bam 2003. Lo que menos podríamos pensar es que en un país tan lejano y tan frío del norte de Europa como es Finlandia pudieramos encontrar un grupo de las características de Groovy Eyes que practican con tanta gracia y buenas intenciones un 'caliente' jump-blues en el viejo estilo de Louis Jordan o Louis Prima. La banda lleva ya once años tocando juntos y este álbum es una manera de celebrarlo. Su experiencia durante todo este tiempo les ha llevado a actuar por toda Finlandia y también en Noruega, Suecia y Dinamarca, actuando en diferentes circuitos de bares, clubs y restaurantes, además de programas en la televisión y radio de los paises que acabamos de mencionar. Los doce temas que componen el cd son todos propios y aparte de las influencias del jump que son las más notables, también hay 'guiños' al swing, a la música de New Orleans, Chicago e incluso al 'be-bop'!!! CORRECTO.

It would be hard to believe that on such a distant cold northern Europe country like Finland we should find a band like The Groove Eyes who perform an interesting honest hot jump blues in the path of Louis Jordan or Louis Prima. The band has been playing together for eleven years and this cd is the way they want to celebrate all this time working together. During these years they have played all over Finland but also in bars, clubs, restaurants and other blues circles, TV and radio shows in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. The twelve songs included on the cd are all their own compositions and reflect their most great influences which are specially jump music, but also swing, New Orleans, Chicago and... even 'be-bop' music. GOOD.
